Stochastic Shots - Where are the Brits?

So far, we could easily observe that most of the crazy and absurd supercars that roam our streets comes from Italy. From the Ferrari line of 360 Modena, F430, 458 Italia, to the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Murcielago, they became the favorite choice of most of the richies in Malaysia.

But what about Aston Martin? Bentley? Or even Jaguar? Are they not crazy or absurd enough? To me, I don't think so. They have the much more "tamer" look of a supercar, maintaining elegance and at the same time, keeping a ferocious monster under the bonnet. Maybe looks are the first thing after all. Since you're getting a supercar, why not go crazy all the way? Having the sleek aerodynamic look of the Ferrari or the aggressive lines of the Lamborghini.

What do you think of the wing fitted on this Ferrari F430?

Boys' toys.

Stochastic Shots - Larger is Better!

Been fiddling around with blogspot's new features, perks and stuffs, and I just realized that the pictures posted could be put larger on the screen! That means no more extra clicking to view the puny lil image that the good ol' blogspot labeled as "large". Right.

Enough with the blabber, here's some more revisited past with a splash of today's expertise..;)

Bye-bye Murcielago. You will be missed.

Mmmm... I see honeycombs!

Can anyone guess what variant this Gallardo is? No cheating aite?

Stochastic Shots - The Last Hurrah

We never want good things to end. Never. But still, someday, we just have to say goodbye on somethings that are just too good to be true. The Transformers trilogy. Cheap petrol. Safe streets. Mitsubishi Evo. And now, we have to bid goodbye to the bad boy supercar that has been haranguing Mr. Enzo's creations all time long, the Lamborghini Murcielago. And this is not any normal Murcielago, its the stripped down, pumped-up version of which it qualifies to bear the SV logo on it. This is the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. The last Murcielago that will ever be made.

To me, this one does not belong on the roads. It belongs in the skies!

Together dying with this magnificent car, is also the V12 engine that has been running strongly since the Murcielago's granddad, the Miura.

Lamborghini is never bored with lines.

In this V12 engine, it packs 661hp that pushes this tangerine beast from a standstill to 100 in almost 3 seconds and will keep on going to a top speed of 340km/h! Ready for a sudden rush of adrenaline?

Seriously Vicious!

I have gotta admit, I am never a big fan of exhausts in the middle. Not until this one arrives.

With the passing of a legend, the world is left with an empty space that awaits its successor. But actually a waiting is not necessary, as Lamborghini had already lined up another menacing beast to replace the empty spot. Let us all wait for the new tarmac-crunching from Lamborghini, the Aventador LP 700-4.

Stochastic Shots - Italiannies!

No, its not the one that you go and have a mouth-watering pasta or pizza to satisfy your taste buds. But it does have a splash of tomato-redness all over though.

The 458 Italia is the successor of the F430, and boy, do the guys in Ferrari really did a good job. The design is totally something new! Small fins in the front, triple-exhaust system, who would've thought of that?

Beside the 458, the GT-R looked...a little "normal".

That's for an extra...I don't know...RM10,000?

Where the heart and soul lies.

Those diffusers look like they belong on a missile. Or a jet plane.

Cool cars have rounded rear lights.

With its emergence in Malaysia, it is quickly replacing the spot where the F430 previously filled up. Although more and more is flooding the streets these days, the number of the predecessor is still dominating. Maybe a couple of years more?

Stochastic Shots - Around KL in 30 minutes

I gotta say, it is very, agonizingly boring to be stuck somewhere indoors, alone in a fine Saturday. Getting terribly bored, I grabbed my camera and started to wander around the KL area..

Did stumbled upon a few exotics, but the common exotics, not the "Exotic" exotics, if you know what I mean. The common ones like this red (yet again) F430...

Well, at least it has a black, soft top. That's a start of being different.

...a silver non-carbon bladed R8...

Somehow the color silver does not appeal on supercars. They should bear attention-grabbing coats like the Lamborghini, with the Verde-whatchamacallit and so on.

...and this zooming Hummer H3.

A gas-guzzling American in action.

But I somehow love the view of the Twin Towers at a clear-sky night. Those two colossal, pointed structures gives the impression as if it is piercing the skies while being bathed by countless spotlights all over.

Being underneath it gives us the idea of how small humans are, and how big their achievement could be if they try.

Has not been lucky with exotic spotting so far. Maybe next time, hopefully.

Stochastic Shots - And it was all yellow...

Usually the color yellow is associated with Lamborghini, but it does suit well on a Ferrari...

Such eye-candies really makes me wanna own one though..

Stochastic Shots - Lotus Evora

When we talk about famous car manufacturers, the definite countries that'll pop out of most heads are those like Japan, Korea (South, of course), and The States. This goes the same towards performance vehicles, minus the Koreans, where most of their cars are made for the masses. But little known from the general view, the British also has a huge arsenal of great cars coming from the Land of The Queen. The Aston Martin, Jaguar, Bentley, and not to forget the astonishing McLaren. And another one, which has gone bankrupt and bought by the Malaysians, is the legendary Lotus.

Lotus has a long line or automotive racing heritage, and I could say that all of its cars are absolutely stunning. Beautiful. Sleek and elegant. And these characteristics are passed on to its new model, the beautiful, sleek and elegant Lotus Evora.

See that shy F430 peeking its red ass at the back..

And while some might think that "Evora" has some kind of meaning in Spanish or Italian, well, you're wrong. The name is actually derived from Evolution, Vogue and Aura. A unique way of naming a car if you ask me. I wonder what the Exige stands for...

Hey, another me!

But anyways, this sleek looking car is also sleek in action. Lotus cars are known for not having a rocket acceleration, but a butterfly's floating capability. It swerves down a curve like it is born to do so, and this should be thanked to its lightweight body. And since this Evora's engine is in the middle, it will help more in the weight distribution, increasing the stability.

When you're running on Pirellis, you know its going to be serious.

And to be noted, this is the only Lotus with a 2 + 2 configuration. So, hey, bring your kids and wife to your next track day and I'm telling you, you won't ever have to drive them to school or to the mall ever again.

Ello' Brits!

The classic Black and Gold Lotus livery. Still looks gorgeous today..

I looked through those grills on the hood and found nothing in it. Is that the boot? Surely the cargo will be drenched if it rains, which it will.

I got to say though, since Proton owns Lotus, they should use the technology and experience in motorsport performance that Lotus has into good use. I mean, are Malaysians born to be stuck inside a front-wheeled, front-engined, cheaply-made but expensively-labeled rebadged cars? Start making cars like these and we'll be more than happy to buy national cars! (Not because we have to due to the absurd price of imports)....

Stochastic shots - "Ah, maybe later"...

I gotta say, procrastination is really a damn bitch. And now, it has gotta end! Haha! Really, it is very annoying when you have the "Ah, maybe later" thought in mind, whereas it will keep on repeating itself every time we thought of executing the plans in our heads. So, while I still have the strength to fight it off, here is some eye candies that will definitely catches our eyes, especially on the streets of Malaysia...

Ferrari F430 Scuderia 16M Spider

Loving those carbon fiber side skirts!

Specially built to commemorate their 16th victory in the Formula 1 Constructor's World Championship back in 2008

The BMW M5. Built or a family guy, who wants to do both ferrying the children to school and tearing up the track.

Some sick rims! And yes, the Brembos too~

A real Hartge? I really hope so...

And some Evoras with the old school Lotus livery!

Got a tonne of pics to put up later on. So stay tuned!

Stochastic Shots - Audi R8

I'm pretty sure that back in the '90s, if someone mentioned the name "Audi", the image of a large, muscular (or bulky), 4-door sedan will automatically appear into most minds. It's as if it was built specifically to serve as a President's threat-proof car or even for the Mafia, as it has this tough and invincible impression through the outlines of its body. And to the petrol heads, the infamous Quattro is no new name to them as Audi's wild side that challenges any rivals that comes through its way.

But today, there is a new image that substitutes those old ones. Instead of being the same old people carrier that sits in the same class as the Bimmer or the Merc, this one, aims to be the top gun by challenging the Italian mad dogs. This new one, is the Audi R8.

Loving this stance!

By the looks, it may not be as sexy as the Ferrari nor aggressive as the Lamborghini, but do not let that be the judgment of this new beast. Packing a 414 bhp 4.2L V8 underneath its rear glass bonnet, it can propel itself from 0-100 in under 5 seconds.

V8 powaaah~

And some giant brakes to tame the horses down..

So the specs might not be so impressive than the other supercars, but that is because Audi has been making civilized cars and sportcars, not barely-road-legal, tarmac-screeching wild horses.

Quad exhaust and some fins? I could live with that..

Pretty sure that this'll be the next F430 here...

Like I said earlier, it may not share the same thrill looks as the other supercar marques, but this one to me is really stunning. Though it looks pretty simple, its overall body and lines somehow suggests that it has been designed by the guys in NASA's top secret lab. And those fins and intakes doesn't only make them look better, but helps a lot in the aerodynamics too.

Some sexy headlights!

And those headlights, God, you just got to love them! Though this one is not firing them up, it looks really captivating when it is. And another part that I personally adore on the R8 is those side intakes, and especially when it is the optional carbon fiber finish. And if you do not have more cash to do so (as it is listed as optional), just either paint them black or just stick some fake carbon fiber vinyl on it.

Eying off its German siblings upfront..

Now I'm pretty sure that sooner or later, this R8 will be filling the streets of Malaysia as the price tag is not so pricey (compared to other supercars of course!). But as long as our insanely tax against import vehicles are still in full force, it'll be an agonizingly long time before I could get my hands on one...

Nature's Beauty with Man's Beast

Bumping into a Gallardo is already a huge stroke of luck for me, but one of those rare units? Man, jackpot! Now from the outside, it may look like the usual LP560-4, with those unmistakable slim and sleek headlights and the jet-like air intakes that has the ability to suck even a bulldog in it.

Personally loving this stance.

But with a little more attention to the detail on its small badge located near to the rear wheels, you’ll realize that it has less 10 horses, and not all wheel drive?

550 horses to play with! But only two legs to pin 'em to the ground?

Than that, must be the limited-edition, specially tribute (for Lamborghini’s veteran test driver Valentino Balboni) Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Balboni. With only 250 units world wide and a rear-wheel configuration, this Gallardo, I’m telling you, is really one of a kind.

But what kept me thinking though, I had never heard or even seen any of the Balboni units of being painted purely white. All of those I heard of had that special and distinctive stripe running through the centre-top of the car, from the front hood straight to the rear engine bay.

Look ma! No Stripes!

But there ain’t any over here! But then, what does this badge tells us? It has 550 horses to gallop around and the power only goes to two wheels, which I could bet on my next salary that Lamborghini isn’t crazy enough to make it going to the front wheels.

Anyways, let’s put all those tech-reference-black and white- specification for a while and just feast our eyes on this majestically crafted German-engineered road beast…

Bull power!

And a million thanks to the cool owner for giving me the green light to browse around your amazing masterpiece, you rock!!
