Super GT Launch @ Empire Shopping Gallery

Hey guys! In case some of you had yet to notice, we are only weeks to one of the greatest GT races that had ever roamed this world, the Super GT series or also formerly known as the All-Japan Grand Touring Championship. Taking place at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) for its third round in 18 - 19 June 2011, it is the only place with the privilege of running a Super GT race OUTSIDE Japan. In other words, you can only catch the roaring GT cars in two countries; Japan, and Malaysia.

Malaysia had actually hosted the Super GT race for quite a while, but this year's race will be a bit different I would say. Previously, the race was being put responsible under SIC's management, all the promotions and so on. But for this year, the baton was passed on to one of the most famous motorsports company in Malaysia, JPM Motorsports. Maybe I did not notice any promotional events for the previous Super GTs before this, but I would say that for this year, JPM is doing very well on getting the word out to the public. The supercar gathering at One Utama, the Final Countdown Party @ Empire Shopping Gallery and the upcoming blood donation drive are some of the endless efforts of JPM Motorsports on spreading the word of the Super GT, and making it a successful one this year.

The Final Countdown Party was held at Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang to officiate the Super GT 2011 Round 3 and boy, a countdown party it was. You can almost get half of the race experience there!(exaggerating, sorry..) There were cars, rave music, stalls, and last but not least, girls! But I am pretty sure that the ones in Sepang will be 100x better than this one, so I am really looking forward for the raceday!

Here are some of the images during the Launch, really hope that JPM Motorsports will do more stuffs like this one!

The lineup of Renault Meganes that will join the support race during raceday.

Rotary power!

The PIC of JPM Motorsports, Mr. T.J. Chin

And the Man himself, Mr. J.P. Chin

You can even catch Super GT on RTM!

The unveiling of the Round 3 Trophy

Petronas Tom's SC430

And a Super GT race would not be complete without the GT Queens!

Smile! =D

I fell in love with the DJ....

Now with the launch complete, it is only a matter of days before the empty space of Sepang is filled with thousands of horses competing to get the top position in the fastest GT race in the world. Furthermore, with a new concept under a new management, we will be expecting something new! Until then, lets hope for the best for both JPM and Super GT to be one of the best races ever in Sepang..

Supercar Charity Challenge 2011 - Part 3

Here are some more images, where it is actually a continuation from Part 1 at Space U8. Sorry though, could not get any coverage from any of the event in Melaka as I ain't got any contacts over there. Nevertheless, enjoy the magnificent craft of German & Italian engineering!(and some British too..)

Love the blueish tone on the exhaust. Titanium, is it?

Yellow + Black = Lamborghini

Straight-Six or Vee-Ten?

=Ferrari=

It's a Jaaaaag!

Born to Fight.

Scuderia lead the way.

More Prancing Horses!!

Bye-bye!

And unfortunately, I think that is it... Did not have a lot of good shots from Pasir Gudang as it was not covered by me firsthand, thus a number of them were..unsatisfactory... Anyways, thanks a lot for dropping by and do stay tune for any updates! =)

Supercar Charity Challenge 2011 - Part 2

FYI, the challenge requires all the participants to travel in a convoy from Shah Alam down south to Johor, where they will then go around the Pasir Gudang track with the lucky orphans along. Of course, I want to be there when that happens. But unfortunately I still have things to settle here, so that kills my opportunity instantly. And what makes me more envious is that since it ends in Johor, I could almost be sure that Tengku Mahkota Johor will pay a visit...with style...

...and unfortunately he did. A small but eye-catching convoy of his could almost outgun the rest that were there. Arriving with his newly-arrived cyan Bugatti, he was flanked with some other super-exotic cars like the Ford GT, McLaren SLR and the Jaguar XJ 220. And not forgetting the "chromized" LP 640. Could not imagine how that car will look like when driven at noon, especially in Malaysia.

But I am not worried, entirely. I got a contact down south, so I just informed him of the event, and he came back with some eye-candies! Thanks dude!

Quite a lineup, is it not? After seeing a lot of other supercars, I could put these on the top list of the most exotic ever in our shores! There are still more though, only awaits it from the censor to approve them..=)

Supercar Charity Challenge 2011

Yeah, I know. It was ages since I last updated this blog with any posts. Not to blame it on anything, but sometimes work can really bog you down. But never mind, though. Just when I was finished with that work, I got some tip-off of some supercar gathering was going to take place somewhere called "Space U8". Now, from word that I had heard, it is a mall with some new concept in mind. But what I did not heard (or missed) was that the mall was a bit..unfinished... It means that you have scaffolds, plasters, paint buckets and sand everywhere! But hey, is that a reason for me on not going there? Apparently not. So, thanks to google maps, there I was, at the last place where I thought that any such event will take place.

And lets just not let the words take all the space, here are the pics from one of the largest supercar gathering that I had been to so far.

There are more to come, so patience is the key right now..

Stochastic Shots - The Last Hurrah

We never want good things to end. Never. But still, someday, we just have to say goodbye on somethings that are just too good to be true. The Transformers trilogy. Cheap petrol. Safe streets. Mitsubishi Evo. And now, we have to bid goodbye to the bad boy supercar that has been haranguing Mr. Enzo's creations all time long, the Lamborghini Murcielago. And this is not any normal Murcielago, its the stripped down, pumped-up version of which it qualifies to bear the SV logo on it. This is the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. The last Murcielago that will ever be made.

To me, this one does not belong on the roads. It belongs in the skies!

Together dying with this magnificent car, is also the V12 engine that has been running strongly since the Murcielago's granddad, the Miura.

Lamborghini is never bored with lines.

In this V12 engine, it packs 661hp that pushes this tangerine beast from a standstill to 100 in almost 3 seconds and will keep on going to a top speed of 340km/h! Ready for a sudden rush of adrenaline?

Seriously Vicious!

I have gotta admit, I am never a big fan of exhausts in the middle. Not until this one arrives.

With the passing of a legend, the world is left with an empty space that awaits its successor. But actually a waiting is not necessary, as Lamborghini had already lined up another menacing beast to replace the empty spot. Let us all wait for the new tarmac-crunching from Lamborghini, the Aventador LP 700-4.
