Stochastic Shots - The Infamous Triplet

When people talk about luxury cars, the usual names that will appear to fit the slots are usually cars from Germany like Mercedes-Benz, BMW or even Audi. Those are the usual cliches of what can be described of the cars that offers luxury to the owners.
But the usual names for supercars? To me, it is undeniably Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. I'm sorry but I do not have any numbers, facts or statistics to back my claim, but those are the names that will pop-up when somebody mentions "supercars" to me.

Another re-edit, a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2.

Well of course, there are other famous marques like Maserati or Aston Martin, but they never really stand up to be an icon of supercars. Compared to these three? They still have a long way to catch up, IMHO. ;)

Stochastic Shots - Where are the Brits?

So far, we could easily observe that most of the crazy and absurd supercars that roam our streets comes from Italy. From the Ferrari line of 360 Modena, F430, 458 Italia, to the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Murcielago, they became the favorite choice of most of the richies in Malaysia.

But what about Aston Martin? Bentley? Or even Jaguar? Are they not crazy or absurd enough? To me, I don't think so. They have the much more "tamer" look of a supercar, maintaining elegance and at the same time, keeping a ferocious monster under the bonnet. Maybe looks are the first thing after all. Since you're getting a supercar, why not go crazy all the way? Having the sleek aerodynamic look of the Ferrari or the aggressive lines of the Lamborghini.

What do you think of the wing fitted on this Ferrari F430?

Stochastic Shots - Larger is Better!

Been fiddling around with blogspot's new features, perks and stuffs, and I just realized that the pictures posted could be put larger on the screen! That means no more extra clicking to view the puny lil image that the good ol' blogspot labeled as "large". Right.

Enough with the blabber, here's some more revisited past with a splash of today's expertise..;)

Bye-bye Murcielago. You will be missed.

Mmmm... I see honeycombs!

Can anyone guess what variant this Gallardo is? No cheating aite?

FXOpen Drift Series 2011 video by DragTimes

Remember the FXOpen Drift Series 2011 held at Speed City KL last March? I just could not help but to share with you guys this awesome vid made by the guys at DragTimes. These guys are some crazy Russians who love drag races, but apparently has some deep interest in going sideways too. Check out their youtube page for more awesomeness! But for now, behold this one into your eyes and tell me what you think of it...;)

Formula Drift Asia Championship 2011 - Round 3, Malaysia

Aight, look man. There’s a lot of ways you can do this, aight? Hand braking is the easiest, so the first thing I want you to do, I want you to rip that e-brake. Aight, after you rip the e-brake, then I want you to power over…”, and that my friends, is not a proper 30-seconds lesson on how to drift.  Apparently, this is not a technique that requires proper procedure. If you really followed Twink’s simple and effortless instructions on how to drift, then your car should already be banging into the walls or guardrails, or you’re just pure talented. To experience firsthand on how the pros do their thing on going sideways and doing more than just ripping e-brakes, drop off to the upcoming Formula Drift Asia Championship as it is coming back to Malaysia this year!

Set at the 17th & 18th December, one of the most famous drift championship is now back to satisfy the craving for speed lovers on getting their dosage of sideways action and rubber-burning spectacle on their own shores. 32 drivers will battle it out in determining who’s got what it takes to gain the sideways supremacy amongst the greatest drivers across Asia, and some beyond. Overseas drivers like Daigo Saito from Japan, JB representing the Aussies and Ken Gushi of the Stars and Stripes will battle it out against our own stars like Ivan Lau, TTW, and Ah Fai who needs no introduction in the local drifting scene.

The location of this year’s challenge? Well, at their official website, it only states that it will be held at the “streets of Kuala Lumpur”. A street track perhaps? That sounds pretty damn awesome! Uneven roads, uncertain surfaces, but definitely no traffic of course, this already sounds like a street race already. And if some of you might recall, last year’s Formula Drift was held at Dataran Merdeka at roughly the same date (18th & 19th December 2010). So by using simple logic, could this be an annual event? I really sure hope so. Anyways, do not worry too much about it; I’ll post the location here once it is confirmed by the organizers.

You gotta watch this vid! A great sum-up of how the last Formula Drift was...;)

The 1st round in Singapore was a success, and fans are gearing up for the next round in Indonesia. So, your December calendar is still pretty much unfilled? Not anymore. Book up the mid-December to support the local drift scene and let’s spice up the Round 3 Formula Drift Asia Championship 2011!
