An Airshow closer to home - the Subang International Air Carnival 2014.

It’s been a while, so let’s get straight to the story where I’m really hoping to revive this dormant blog. After my blind and yet survivable journey to Langkawi to witness first-hand the incredible scale of our Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2013, another air show had popped into the radar, and luckily this time it does not take that much of a preparation or even planning.

Closer and more accessible this time is the inaugural Subang International Air Carnival 2014. Held at the Subang Skypark Regional Aviation Centre in Shah Alam, the carnival will be held from 12 – 15 June 2014.
Before you get too excited, here's a disclaimer that I'm not sure if the Fulcrums will be there or not! This is just for display, one that I took during LIMA 2013.

I guess it didn’t take me long to decide whether should I go or not, since I made that decision in a split second – hell yeah! Of course the first thing that crossed my mind is that I should not expect this one to come anywhere close to LIMA as I practically heard no promotion whatsoever throughout the year; no banners or even ads promoting this event.

Luckily one of my friends who works as a media was assigned to cover this carnival, and much thanks to him that I now know the existence of the first ever Subang International Air Carnival 2014. So without further ado, a quick check to Mr. Google was done to gain more info on this so called ‘air carnival’.

Organized by F & R Exhibition and Conference, this event got the support of the Transport Ministry and was endorsed by the Department of Civic Aviation Malaysia and Malaysia Airports Berhad. So expect companies like Firefly, Malindo Air, NADI and CTRM Aviations to take part and put their aircrafts in display.

While that might sound cool, I’m more attracted to the other ‘participant’ making an appearance – the Malaysian Armed Forces.

And as I make my way through the event’s website, overseeing the itinerary one thing really caught my attention - it is said there that there’s going to be a helicopter joyride held throughout the day! Although it may cost RM150 for a ride, I guess it is pretty much worth it as I don’t think there will be such opportunity popping up anytime soon to ride an actual helicopter.

So the MAF and a heli ride – two reasons that are more than enough to convince me to take a peek to this Subang International Air Carnival 2014.

A more comprehensive report will follow after I make my way to this carnival. Further info of the Subang International Air Carnival 2014 is available down below, in case any of you decide to go there. Ticket prices for the Air Carnival are as stated below.
